If so, we are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic manager to bring their leadership and expertise to support the Amazon Travel and Events functional teams at Amazon. In this role we are seeking a customer obsessed, strategic mindset and detail oriented professional to develop and drive compliance program strategy, initiatives that envision implementing smart, intuitive policies that balances customer experience with necessity controls. We are looking for an individual that can dive deep, learn and be curious, and think big as it relates to our cross-functional collaboration to increase controllership in our managed programs and create visibility across all partner teams.
This role will significantly contribute to building the travel and events compliance program roadmap and drive program utilization. This is a high visibility position offering opportunities for meaningful impact and deep collaboration with senior leaders and vendors across all geographies and functions.
The individual in this role must quickly develop partnerships with internal stakeholders, 3rd party partners, and senior leadership to build alignment and drive program goals, key projects, and initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
Travel and Events Compliance Program
– Own AT&E Compliance Program Management initiatives, balancing cost, risk and customer experience objectives.
– Lead and maintain the policies, procedures and risk assessments that support the AT&E Compliance Program Management.
– Lead the development and implementation of new control and compliance mechanism and/or revisions to existing controls, working with Travel and Events Operations, Technology and Data teams and other FinOps partner teams (Like AP, TERA) to define compliance requirements and manage emerging risk.
– Partner with Technology and Data teams to build and maintain AT&E Compliance KPI dashboard and create actionable insights and reports from the compliance analytics.
– Prepare regular precise assessment reports for senior leadership and key stakeholders with clear finding details, and actionable short/mid/long-term corrective and preventative action suggestions, thus helping AT&E’s program to set, achieve and maintain compliance requirements and goals.
– Undergo regular and ad-hoc compliance audits to the existing compliance mechanisms as part of the self-inspection process
– Promote a culture of compliance, proactively engage peers and stakeholders across business, operations, and technology teams to educate on compliance concerns.
– Collaborate examination and internal audit processes by engaging internally with the respective FinOps functions
– Monitor for new regulatory developments and issues that may pose compliance risk.
– Support engagement with independent internal and external auditors and regulators as required.
Travel and Expense Policy Management
– Oversee the global travel and events policies
– Own exceptions management and ensure the process is communicated in downstream programs and stakeholders
– Manage individual initiatives in support of policy changes and build consensus across functional and partner teams
– Partner with the internal Communications teams to drive the development of a policy education strategy
– Bring a compliance perspective to the ongoing evaluation of policy effectiveness, adoption, and thus increase policy compliance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years experience in Travel and Events Management
– Demonstrated analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
– Demonstrated strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
– Experience in assessing customer data and analytics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience in travel and meeting technologies/data and a general understanding of the travel ecosystems
– Ability to prioritize and manage multiple stakeholders needs in a fast-paced environment
– Ability to prioritize root cause resolution, process improvements, and drive enhancements
– Demonstrated success at learning and explaining business processes
– Demonstrated project management experience
– Attention to detail with a collaborative nature
– Exemplary ability to think strategically and identify and resolve problems
