AWS Finance seeks a world class Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member of its team supporting a strategic suite of products under the AWS CloudWatch portfolio. Read more about CloudWatch here: https://aws.amazon.com/cloudwatch/

This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, including Product Managers and Engineers, to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the AWS businesses.

This individual will support and drive the core financial processes for the business including Annual Operating Plans, Service P&L, Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews, identify and quantify financial/operational Risks and Opportunities (R&O) to the business, and drive ad-hoc business projects. Additional responsibilities include helping refine the capacity planning process and modeling improvements to help drive positive Free Cash Flow.

This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project and people management. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.

Key job responsibilities
– Support the AWS Service P&Ls and influence business decisions that drive revenue and/or capital expenditures
– Provide deep analytics and communicate effectively to senior business team leaders
– Support financial planning and analysis; build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance, including short and long range financial/operational forecasts, and communicate results to senior management
– Maintain controllership of the business: ensure all financial fundamentals are correct and accurate, such as billing, cost allocation, and financial presentation
– Develop and standardize financial reports
– Analyze new business ideas, make analytical judgments, and provide data intensive analyses to drive meaningful change

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
– 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
– Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
– MBA, or CPA
– Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
– Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
– Knowledge of Tableau
– 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
