As a Principal Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining the 3-5 year strategic vision for the creation of new personalized recommendation experiences at scale. You will build and execute a roadmap with industry leading solutions that enables Amazon’s Recommenders to surprise and delight our customers. Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
· Define vision, develop roadmap and drive execution to make Amazon’s Personalized Recommenders the industry leader in new personalized experiences.
· Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application
· Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance and operational support load
· Work closely with engineering, design, data science, and program management in an agile environment to deliver products to customers
· Drive product roadmap creation including working with operations, executive team, and other team members
· Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues to help the team meet strategic, financial, and technical goals
· Interface and partner with all levels of the Amazon businesses.
· Mentor product managers and leaders in the team
· Establish standards/best practices to raise the bar on product management in the organization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with end to end product delivery
– Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
– Experience technical product management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
– Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
– Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
– MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or Technology. Demonstrated experience incubating and commercializing new technology, working closely with research scientists and technical teams from idea generation through implementation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
