We are seeking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer who is passionate about using data to surface customer insights that will influence the development of new and improved customer experiences on Fire TV. Our ideal candidate is someone who has experience instrumenting metrics and deep diving large and ambiguous datasets, is an expert in data querying languages such as SQL, PySpark, or Python, and has general data wrangling experience with ETL processes. The candidate should also have exemplary communication skills and business acumen, and be comfortable working with partners with varying levels of technical awareness.Key job responsibilities• Own the end-to-end delivery of reporting products including: • Working with product stakeholders to gather business requirements to define key performance indicators • Translating business requirements into technical requirements that can be used by software developers and data engineers to build data pipelines • Validating data and writing code logic to instrument metrics • Designing, implementing, and maintaining ongoing reporting solutions such as dashboards to drive key business decisions and track overall business health and goals• Performing analyses on large datasets to explain changes in customer engagement and feature performance trends• Interfacing with other data teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources• Recognizing and adopting best practices in reporting and analysis to foster operational excellence (e.g., performing data integrity checks, gaining efficiencies in data processing capabilities, continuously improving reporting and analysis processes, and driving documentation processes) • Managing multiple projects and proactively communicating to stakeholders status updates and shifts in priorities and objectives• Contributing to defining the team’s data vision and strategyA day in the lifeIn this role you will help shape and implement the team’s vison for data infrastructure and data models, reporting and deep dive artifacts, and self-serve data tools. You will help develop and maintain team mechanisms that ensure our data products hold a high bar for operational efficacy and accuracy. You will closely collaborate with product, engineering, and partner BI teams to define and instrument key performance indicators for the Fire TV business and ensure that these metrics are aptly represented and understood across orgs. About the teamOur team is part of the Fire TV Experience org and is comprised of Business Intelligence Engineers and Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists. We take pride in building scalable, reliable, and trustworthy data products that empower our stakeholders to make data-driven decisions to improve the quality of the Fire TV and Alexa products they deliver to customers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modelingPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab- Bachelor’s degree in sciences, engineering, finance or equivalentAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
