DESCRIPTION
Workplace Health and Safety, Facilities, Engineering and Construction Team is seeking a Global Process Safety Manager (PSM). This role will lead strategic initiatives and business partnerships globally. This role will carry the PSM vision and strategy to drive consistency in implementing and managing our process management safety risks across WW Operations with particular focus in hydrogen fuel use and associated safety risks. This role will functionally partner with all engineering teams to drive a systematic approach to address risk identification, mitigation, and management of safety solutions. Role may require travel approximately 25% of the time (domestic and global).
Key job responsibilities
• Providing process safety leadership to all Amazon business units regulated by Amazon and determine if potential projects are safe/acceptable within Amazon’s risk profile.
• Creating tools for compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for inspection, analysis, identification and prioritization of potential process hazards as well as other safety requirements with be required.
• Evaluation of process safety risk and recommending controls, coordinating the development of Process Safety Information, and serving as point of contact for, and collaborating with, internal and external stakeholders and technical resources on control solutions.
• Training, coaching, and mentoring others involved in process safety improvement activities including developing and providing training on process safety topics and developing and reporting process safety leading metrics and best practices is also required.
• Leading and/or participating on incident investigations that are related to PSM, risk assessment teams, and EHS self-assessments and/or audits is a job responsibility.
• Supporting site wide Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) programs, systems, and processes including a willingness to be on-call for emergencies is needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of program or project management experience
• 10+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
• 10+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
• 10+ years of team management experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering and/or a Masters degree in Safety or another engineering-related field
• Five years of combined experience performing risk assessments/analysis techniques such as: Process Hazard Assessment (PHA), Layers of Protection (LOPA), RAP (Risk Assessment & Prioritization) and/or RAM (Risk Assessment for Machines) in a private, public, or government environment
• Ten years of safety experience with emphasis on process safety management in a private, public, government or military environment
• Experience with chemical processing equipment and facilities
• Experience and understanding of process engineering work such as safety relief demand scenarios, and basic function of hydrogen unit operations is required
• Experience with chemical processing equipment and facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s Degree preferred in related safety engineering field
• Experience participating on relevant standard development committees (i.e. ISO, EIC, Machinery Directive) and other industry groups
• Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean manufacturing or process improvement certification/s

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $142,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
