The Amazon Books team is looking for a Senior Policy Manager for our Global Books Risk Policy team. This team ensures that books published on Amazon create a great customer experience and that authors and publishers abide by our guidelines and terms and conditions. Amazon sells books across the globe in different languages and countries. Policy Managers on the Books Risk Policy team navigate the different laws and cultural nuances across the globe to ensure the best possible reading experience for customers.

Key job responsibilities
(1) Contribute to the strategy, evaluation, and maintenance of Amazon’s Global Books Risk Policies.
(2) Exercise sound judgment on complex, time-sensitive, and often controversial issues.
(3) Coordinate with Legal, Public Relations, Public Policy, Diversity & Inclusion, Engineering, Operations, and Business teams to preserve the reader experience on Amazon.
(4) Own fast-paced policy research, draft and present thoughtful policy proposals to senior leaders up to the SVP-level.
(5) Support Policy escalations, and influence technology investments to detect and prevent risk to the Amazon Books business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Master’s degree or equivalent
– Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
– Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
