Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Deploy Technician as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location. Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings between October – December 2024. Trainees will participate in our 12-month work and training program in our San Francisco facilities.

All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
• Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
• Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
• Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

Key job responsibilities
* Work closely with our Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products
* Collaboration with various stake holders to remove project obstacles
* Report current status via ticketing system, status reports, email and slack
* Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
* Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centers
* Troubleshoot networking, routing and inter connectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interaction
* Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
* Remediating small scale hardware failures related to cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
* Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
* Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanliness
* Up to 50% travel within geographical work area may be required; some travel outside traditional work area may be requested

A day in the life
To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. In addition, you must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. You will be able to leverage your experience exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.
Additionally, all candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.

You will be required to work shift work that will include days/nights/weekends/holidays. Traveling within the regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– High school or equivalent diploma
– Are 18 years of age or older
– Willingness to travel to different sites as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience with Microsoft Office
– Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems
– Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with Manager
– STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education
– Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements and functional/technical depths and complexity for this role

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $39,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $87,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
