The Principal, Sr Transformation Lead is a seasoned organization development, transformation, and change expert; with proven success leading high-profile workforce transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will have internal or external consulting experience, with a track-record of advising, facilitating, and influencing employees and leaders of all levels through the transformation process. This includes conducting change needs analyses, designing and planning transformation solutions, mobilizing change champions and sponsors, embedding change behaviors and habits across audiences, and sustaining change through alignment and enablement practices. This leader will be accountable to designing experiences and solutions that measurably reduce the time, effort, cost, and risk to achieve transformation goals.

Key job responsibilities
The Principal, Sr Transformation Lead will be an expert in designing customer experiences and high-impact workforce transformation solutions. The successful candidate will have expertise across the workforce value chain including a keen understanding of the intersection of business and people strategies, key drivers of workforce success, a deep background in service design, scalable operating models, organizational change, and large-scale program delivery. They should have proven success in delivering world-class solution designs that set-the-bar for others.

As a Principal, Sr Transformation Leadwithin Devices and Services People Experience & Technology (PXT), you will work closely with and influence cross-functional internal teams and customers within both the business and PXT to think big and design transformation strategies and solutions. You will diagnose organizational transformation needs and develop, deliver, and scale capabilities that are critical accelerators of business strategies in a rapidly changing and increasingly complex environment. You will have the responsibility to design processes and build infrastructure to support customers in: aligning and organizing capabilities to optimize quality and effectiveness, diagnosing constraints to realizing priority scenarios, creating an organizational alignment action plan and effectively leading high performing teams. The leader in this role will galvanize respective enablement leads to drive learning, change management, communications, and incentive mechanisms as needed for transformation solutions.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Solution Design
• Relentlessly advocate for the Devices and Services business and workforce by looking around corners and anticipating needle-moving transformation opportunities
• Ensure that changes in technology, process, and behaviors align to intended business and workforce outcomes
• Conduct organizational assessments to uncover the values, embedded assumptions, and behaviors that manifest in the current work environment; lead shaping the future state
• Work directly with customers to define transformation goals, risks, and opportunities; support long-term owners from strategy development to delivery design
• Design and deliver scalable solutions, services, and tools that meet the needs of our business’ strategy
• Deliver tangible solutions, track their usage, and drive continuous improvement
• Contribute to best-in-class transformation playbooks and reusable assets to scale capability-building; be on the forefront of cutting-edge solution design practices and technologies
• Provide training, coaching, and leadership development to drive engagement, problem-solving, transparency, autonomy, and growth mindset across the workforce; ensure leaders are intentionally and actively building their capacity to change and achieve greater effectiveness
• Effectively lead informal, matrixed, and dotted-line team(s) of business partners, change managers, and transformation practitioners through ambiguous and fluid tasks
• Empower, motivate, and actively develop teams and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals
• Delegate to teams and stakeholders; follow through to ensure commitments and the highest standards are met

Measurement
• Work in partnership with Research, Science and Analytics teams to holistically and scientifically measure transformation solution effectiveness
• Create reports and metrics that facilitate high-bar, data-driven inspection and decision making
• Define, track, and communicate appropriate performance measurements to stakeholders
• Share insights and success patterns with customers to build trust; design, and articulate actionable tasks that drive enterprise-wide transformation and associated goals
• Continually improve solution success rates and satisfaction across Transformation and partner delivery teams
• Collect, analyze, and provide detailed feedback for continuous improvement of change management and transformation methods, tools, and reusable assets

Travel is expected.

About the team
The Devices and Services HR is building a new Transformation team focused on diagnosing, designing, and delivering innovative change management and organization development solutions to drive positive transformations across the business. Our mission is to create human-centered transformation experiences that position D&S employees to do the best work of their lives, while raising the bar on delivering for customers.

This role will stand up the Transformation effort across Devices and Services and work at the intersect on program management, solution execution and research and analytics to tackle a broad array of problems at the intersection of business and talent imperatives. We operate as complementary to a dedicated business owner, augmenting their team’s efforts and driving end-to-end transformation. We work collaboratively with other groups to drive business impact together.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with end to end product delivery
– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
– Expertise in I/O Psychology-based solution design and people analytics; strong understanding of organizational development, including Strategic Workforce Planning, Team Effectiveness, Experience Design, Culture and broad talent management disciplines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Master’s degree
– Experience working in Workforce Transformation, Change Management, Product Management or Organization Development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $145,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
