About the team
PVXT Intelligence comprises multiple teams that own the data platform, the streaming metrics computation engine, a range of published datasets consumed by diverse business units and the customer facing tooling for accessing petabytes of data in a readily consumable format. We support a range of customers such as playback engineers looking at diagnostic telemetry, partner teams working on algorithms for improving playback performance and operators monitoring live international sports events.

The charter of the Tools, Monitoring and Insights Team (within PVXT Intelligence) is to develop systems that generate actionable metrics, datasets, insights, and intelligence which consumers can explore via tools, dashboards, ML systems or APIs to automate actions. We partner closely with our sister team that collects trillions of events per day direct from end user devices all around the world. We love data and the value we can deliver to our customers through automated analysis of that data whilst at all times doing so with appropriate security and privacy controls. We also know that numbers are of little use without context, and to that end have empowered our users by creating and exposing KPIs and associated insights to users through a variety of interfaces including intuitive web applications that offer a guided flow every step of the way from analyzing top level metrics down to exploring a single streaming session. We additionally strive to automate data exploration where we can, and are investing into new machine learning models to identify the top items our teams should focus on to improve overall customer experience with the entire Prime Video platform.

Within the team, we’re looking for a results-driven and customer-obsessed BI Engineer to develop our data strategy, lead customer analytics initiatives, and drive insights capabilities. This individual will have proficiency in employing business intelligence solutions, excellent analytical abilities, strong business acumen, dealing with ambiguity, and good judgment. This individual will also provide thought leadership against future modeling capabilities and programs that enable the improvement of video streaming. They will influence data driven business decisions that results in quantifiable outcomes, understanding complex business relationships, and developing a correlation between their work and PV’s quality of experience.
