As a Sr. Scientist, you will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for customers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The Senior Scientist should have a strong background in molecular biology, particularly excelling in assay design and development. Demonstrated expertise in guiding the entire development cycle, including feasibility, design, optimization, and validation, is crucial. They should exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities. A proven track record of interdisciplinary collaboration underscores the importance of teamwork in achieving project goals.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead full-cycle assay development from design, optimization to validation.
• Plan, design, and execute scientific studies to meet project objectives.
• Take ownership of experimental protocols, data analysis, technical report, and project summaries.
• Communicate technical concepts, project status, risks, and mitigations to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Contribute to New Product Introduction during the design transfer process.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, collaborating across disciplines to address challenges and devise solutions.
• Collaborate closely with clinical, regulatory, quality, and operational stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate degree (MSc/Ph.D) in biological sciences or other relevant fields.
• Minimum 8+ year direct experience in an assay development role.
• Proven skills in assay design and development with in-depth knowledge of assay optimization methodologies and assay validation procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with a wide variety of assay platforms, such as ELISA, LFIA, etc.
• Track record of developing and validating biochemical and molecular-based assays for commercial use.
• Broad familiarity of difference disciplines within the life sciences ( e.g. PCR, recombinant DNA technology, protein expression and purification, chromatography, immunology, and antibody chemistry and binding kinetics).
• Familiarity with tools and methodologies that are commonly used in modern laboratory data analysis.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $216,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
