The Amazon Global Mile team is looking for an energetic, focused and skilled Senior Manager, Technical Program Management to lead a team of Technical Program Managers to plan, develop and deliver complex programs for one of the fastest growing businesses at Amazon.

Amazon Global Mile team is revolutionizing e-commerce by creating the world’s most efficient global logistics solutions, making selection from anywhere available to customers everywhere, at lowest prices and fastest delivery speeds. We focus on breaking down barriers to allow selling partners to sell their items to hundreds of millions of customers around the world. Our team develops software that removes friction from the process of global fulfillment and cross border selling. We deliver solutions pivotal to business expansion by enabling selling partners to provide better offers in existing marketplaces and to introduce their products to new customers around the world. Key job responsibilities
Manage a team of Technical Program Managers (TPM) to plan, design, develop and deliver complex solutions for global shipping for our selling partners and global fulfillment to our customers. Contribute to the Global Mile long-term planning. Manage career development of team members and recruiting for the team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
– 8+ years of experience leading software development projects
– 5+ years of managing technical teams
– 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience
– Experienced in leading technical teams to manage end-to-end large, complex technical programs, involving many business and technical teams.
– Experienced in understanding and contributing to the technical architecture and design of a product/feature(s).
– Ability to understand and evaluate architectural designs for strengths and weaknesses and balance technical trade-offs against business ones.
– Ability to lead TPMs in driving planning and execution processes and to implement mechanisms for continuous improvement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Track record of managing large technical teams that deliver complex technology projects
– Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
– Solid foundation in service-oriented technologies to be able to understand service inter-dependencies and drive towards technical solutions for multi-tiered systems.
– Experience with cross geographical project coordination and management
– Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals
– Excellent written and oral communication skills
– Proven problem solving skills.
– Strong organizational skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
