Our vertically integrated team builds the ASICs, hardware, firmware, cloud services and mobile applications that make up the Blink ecosystem of battery and wired cameras, doorbells and accessories that our customers love. We are seeking dynamic and motivated engineers to grow the team.
The Senior Systems Engineer works with Product, EE, ME and SW teams to define and execute the products on the Blink roadmap. The role starts with analyzing potential architectures and methods to produce proof of concepts and prototypes and continues through final product definition and execution.
Key job responsibilities
The Blink team is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer/Architect to provide leadership for concept development, architecture, and design of camera and accessory systems. In this role, you will:
– Identify and analyze the cross-functional tradeoffs between design alternatives, including impact on performance, schedule, cost, risk, complexity, and scale
– Break down and frame problems to clarify needs and align technical teams
– Identify design choices needed to ensure our products meet design and reliability goals and are cost effective at scale
– Perform technical risk assessments and devise mitigation plans
– Create system test strategies
– Build quantitative models and analyses using appropriate tools to conduct trade off studies, refine requirements, and understand key HW and SW system drivers
– Maintain strong communications between HW, ASIC and SW teams
– Mentor junior engineers in engineering best practices, and participate in hiring of new team members
About the team
The Blink HW Dev team is responsible for all hardware aspects of the devices that are being put out under the Blink brand, from concept to mass production. We work closely with product marketing, program management, manufacturing and QA to ensure that the final results are up to our high standards.
The team is made up of talented ME’s, EE’s and test engineers all dedicated to getting things done right, fast and economically.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
– 5+ Years of EE design
– 2+ Years of programming experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
– Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs
– Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software/hardware development life cycle for embedded systems
– 2+ years working with wireless technologies, such as Wi-Fi/BT, Sub-gig, LTE
– 2+ years of programming with at least on modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Ruby
