Amazon Shipping is looking to hire a data-driven, customer-obsessed, and visionary Senior Manager to lead the new Shipper Management function within Amazon Shipping. In starting-up this team, you will develop policies, products, and processes that focus on giving our shipping customers feedback mechanisms that improve their experience, cost, and quality with our service. As a Senior Manager, you will lead and grow a dynamic and complex space that links our customers, our business, operations, and our support teams together, holding a high bar with regard to customer obsession and operational performance.

As a leader of this new function, you will play a lead role in defining and refining standards across a range of shipping functions that we will relay back to shippers through the creation of easy-to-consume shipper analytics. You will create and manage the implementation of a shipper scorecard product that will become a primary customer-facing tool for shippers to interact with Amazon and manage their logistics. You will develop a carrots-and-sticks methodology to motivate shippers to manage their inputs and move package volume to Amazon. You will manage the data streams, publishing, and communication associated with the scorecard and analytics package. Lastly, you will establish the product in the US and roll it out to other geographies once you’ve established adoption, fit, and finish.

Key job responsibilities
– Develop a set of metics that we externalize to Shippers so they can understand their business performance
– Define guardrails that indicate performance levels across a shipper population
– Create a clear carrots-and-sticks methodology that enables shippers to be rewarded for volume and behavior
– Sell your vision to stakeholders across orgs and demonstrate value in account growth and management
– Pilot and expand your program by running a regular update, publish, and review cadence
– Hire, develop, and lead a team of performance coaches that will centralize and key account tasks allowing Account Managers to focus on growth
– Carry out team and organizational reviews and assess key performance metrics
– Define data-led approaches to products and ways of working
– Resolve business-critical and persistent problems

A day in the life
You will organize and direct your teams efforts so that program milestones and key deliverables are met. You’ll also play an active role in defining scope for complex programs and initiatives, and you’ll present your analysis and recommendations to Directors and Vice Presidents to inform change at the most senior level.

You’ll manage a team of program and data analysts who will work alongside a variety of tech, operations, and business stakeholders to drive business-critical outcomes. You’ll challenge and guide the team to ensure the timely progress and completion of their deliverables, coordinate their efforts, and address a lack of traction or adoption where necessary. You will always be looking to the future and exploring how to create the most value for the business and the customer.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 12+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
– 6+ years of team management experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with end to end product delivery
– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience engaging and influencing senior executives

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $160,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $265,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
