Sr. Org Design Specialist, AIGC PXT – USA, WA, Seattle

Amazon

  • Full Time

DESCRIPTION

Are you passionate about developing and retaining talent on a global scale? Have you been able to execute and influence across multiple organizations, leaders and geographies? At Amazon, our businesses continue to grow and expand because of our innovative technologies, extensive global retail selection, and world class operations to deliver to our customers. Driving all of our businesses are our talented employees who are strong owners, have the highest standards, and obsess over our customers.

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Org Design Specialist to join the Org Effectiveness team supporting Advertising, IMDb, and Grand Challenge (AIGC) businesses. This role serves as a strategic partner to both HR and the business to conduct organization diagnostics, identify opportunities for org design (structure, process, talent) optimization, provide pragmatic guidance, and implement solutions that drive efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainable change. This role will build organization design capability through the development and deployment of best practice resources and training to both HR and the business.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of:

-Knowing Your Customers. Understand their priorities, what they are saying, and more importantly, what they aren’t. Deliver and drive value for them.
-Judgment. Take different perspectives and business needs, develop a solution that works, move the ball forward. Be able to support your opinions with sound reasoning grounded in the business.
-Analytical Mindset. Must be comfortable inspecting data wherever possible to inform opinions
-Innovation. Appreciate what exists, identify why it works. Then rebuild it or build something totally different that derives even MORE value and a better customer experience.
-Functional Excellence. Understand all the connections and integration points through the entire talent management lifecycle.
-Think Big. How do we build it bigger, better, faster? What aren’t we thinking of?
-Research driven. We seek to be the most scientific HR organization in the world. We form hypotheses about the best talent management techniques and then set out to prove or disprove them with experiments and careful data collection.
-Building relationships. Partner with AIGC PXT teams, Business Leaders, and corporate COE teams. Share best practices, partner on solutions, and move the organizations forward together.
-Communicating. Share your ideas, listen to others, follow-up, and follow-up again. Use the language of the business and avoid “consultant speak”. This role will have frequent interactions with Steam and other senior leaders. Must be a clear and strong communicator both verbally and in writing.
-Resourcefulness. If you don’t know it, that’s ok. But you should know where to go for the answer or how to find out.
-Bias for Action and dealing with ambiguity. Sometimes it is not clear how we are going to get there. Can you help carve a path? How fast can you do it? What are the tradeoffs? Take risks and be willing to try new things, fail fast and iterate.

Key job responsibilities
• Act as a direct partner to the PXT HRBP leads in evaluating the existing organization design, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing solutions to increase talent leverage and improve organizational speed and execution.
• Accelerate OD capability building though the development and deployment of best practice toolkits and training to both HR and the business.
• Conduct organizational analysis to uncover talent and org effectiveness insights and build talent and organizational effectiveness solutions (both scrappy and long-term).

• Build connections with the broader Amazon TM and OD network to represent line perspective and look for innovative ways to solve business needs, such as experimentation, or new tools/technologies (from other Amazon orgs) to consistently raise the bar and drive consistency as we scale.
