DESCRIPTION
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
We are seeking a hardware engineering manager to join our team at Project Kuiper. The successful candidate will be responsible to lead the design, implementation and validation of complex space grade hardware electronics within the Antenna Team. As a leader, you will manage, develop and grow your team to deliver results and collaborate with cross functional teams in the organization. You have a good mix of interpersonal skills expected from a manager and technical acumen expected from an engineer. Your ownership and contributions will include:

* Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, timelines and resources
* Develop processes, mechanisms for efficient execution on priorities
* Execute on a HW development process for complex antenna systems
* Innovate with your team on challenges unique to Kuiper
* Collaborate with cross-functional team for complete system integrity and performance
* Lead and coordinate technical trades in various areas such PCB development, digital electronics, high speed serial interfaces, RF hardware and interconnect, reliability and “design for X”
* Lead the team developing the hardware for advanced antenna systems in space application
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
* 10+ years of industrial experience especially in board level analog/digital design
* 3+ years of experience in a technical leading role and a management position.
* 5+ years of experience in high-speed digital design, multi-gigabit SERDES, signal and power integrity
* 5+ years of experience using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
* Experience with advanced CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
* Experience with the entire NPI process
* Experience with developing hardware for space applications.
* Familiarity with analog electronic fundamentals (transistor circuits, op-amps, filters, etc)
* Experience in design, implementation, bring up and debugging of HW from prototypes to manufacturing
* Familiarity with power supply design
* Familiarity with developing hardware with complex ASIC.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $135,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $234,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
