AWS Financial Technology Team is looking for a results-oriented, innovative software development engineer, who can help us create the next generation of distributed, scalable financial data platform. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with big data, and enjoys problem solving within highly complex business contexts that are typically being defined in real-time. We need someone to design and develop managed solutions that enables AWS Fintech services that facilitate global financial transactions worth billions (USD) annually.

Key job responsibilities
* Responsible for technical design and delivery of software components.
* Works closely with our customers and stakeholders to understand their requirements, analyzes various technical options and proposes solutions with proof of concept.
* Translates the proposals into technical design, coordinates development effort with other SDEs, tests and delivers features in production.
* Performs code reviewers for peer engineers and provides constructive feedback.
* Ensures that the solutions proposed are logical, testable, maintainable, and efficient.
* Drives engineering best practices for continuous process improvements in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

About the team
AWS Fintech Data Platform Team powers 30+ AWS Fintech data heavy applications across reporting of financial actuals, continuous planning, headcount management, and elimination of manual processes in Finance,Accounting. As an organization that powers finance insights for the fasted growing business in Amazon, we believe it is always Day 1 at AWS Fintech Data Platform team and are constantly adding and building new capabilities that power AWS Fintech applications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
– 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
– Experience programming with at least one software programming language
– 3+ years of big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR or Storm/Samza experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
– Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
