DESCRIPTION
AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Biometric Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager-Technical to join our Shopper and Merchant Experience team, where they will innovate on behalf of third-party customers and help build the future of autonomous retail. This person will be responsible for the end-to-end Just Walk Out (JWO) experience for enterprise customers, from onboarding and store setup, to ongoing management and expansion, through post-purchase receipt and returns. This person will work closely with cross-functional engineering, design, and business teams to develop roadmaps that create future experiences to delight JWO shoppers and merchants. As the JWO business scales, this role will be a critical driver of customer success and a key strategic partner to the broader JWOS organization.
Key job responsibilities
* Drive the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for the Merchant Experience. Consult with key partners to determine program prioritization and identify tradeoffs.
* Proactively identify opportunities and gaps to improve customer experience and work with engineering to address them. Engage directly with customers and tech partners to develop and launch product features.
* Regularly communicate with business leaders, tech partners, and other stakeholders to drive alignment across key business initiatives.
* Leverage technical expertise to evaluate the current architecture, identify risks/limitations, and propose solutions to deliver a scalable, self-serve experience for customers. Identify and mitigate risks, preventing them from escalating into major issues.
* Influence technical priorities and business strategy through data-driven and anecdotal voice of customer inputs.
A day in the life
On a daily basis as part of our team, you have the unique opportunity to help build the future of autonomous retail. You will work hand-in-hand with external customers to identify experience gaps, prioritize feature roadmaps, and develop and launch new experiences. You’ll work backwards from a diverse set of customers to build and improve upon the merchant experience, influencing long-term strategy and creating a robust suite of retail products. You will encounter ambiguous problems that require broad thinking and provide opportunity for high ownership. You will work in a highly collaborative environment that’s more startup than big company.
About the team
Just Walk Out (JWO) technology enables shoppers to enter a store, grab whatever they want, and quickly get back to their day, without having to wait in a checkout line or stop at a cashier. By removing the checkout, retailers can increase merchandising space, move more customers through the store, and provide a frictionless shopping experience. Designed and custom-built by Amazonians, our JWO Technology uses a variety of technologies including computer vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning. Within the JWO Tech product team, we are continually innovating on behalf of shoppers and retailers. Our goal is to be Earths’ most customer centric company and we are just getting started. We need people who want to join an innovative program that continues to push the state of the art in computer vision, machine learning, distributed systems, and hardware design.
Diverse Experiences
Amazon values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.
