Prime Air is seeking an experienced Flight Operator with sound judgment and strict flight discipline. Success will require leadership, attention to detail, a safety-oriented attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for Drone technology. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can deliver results under pressure.

We are looking for a candidate who has at least a part 107 certification. This candidate will be expected to lead a flight operations team in conducting flight operations and performing limited Drone and ground support equipment troubleshooting. This individual will also conduct flight readiness activities and logistics planning as needed. Aviation safety experience is strongly preferred. Potential travel up to 50%.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities
– Ensuring Safe Operations
– Flight Planning
– Leading a Flight Crew and utilizing CRM
– Process Improvement and Documentation
– Ability to identify and anticipate hurdles to the operation
Lifting: The ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds of equipment, including drones, batteries, and related gear, as part of daily operational tasks.
Bending and Flexibility: The role may involve bending, squatting, and other physical movements to set up, maintain, or retrieve equipment and perform operational tasks.
Standing: The candidate should be capable of standing for extended periods, particularly during drone setup, takeoff, and landing procedures.
Climbing Ladders: Depending on the specific operational requirements, the candidate may need to ascend and descend ladders or elevated platforms to access drones, perform maintenance, or conduct inspections.
Visual Acuity: Good visual acuity, including the ability to identify and respond to obstacles, hazards, or changes in flight conditions during drone operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
– Experience with remote-control aircraft/multi-rotor products
-Third Class Medical
– Valid Driver’s License and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 14 CFR Part 61 Private Pilot License
– Excellent communications and reporting skills
– Proven leader for small teams and capable of highly autonomous decision making
– Experience with commercial UAS industry
– 2+ years of RC pilot experience with excellent coordination and execution
– Experience with FAA rules and regulations
– Aviation safety experience
