The Amazon Business Budget Management team allows Customers to manage spend across the organization by creating time-bound budgets at the Amazon Business Group-level. Our customers expect to have greater confidence in their purchasing process by setting spend thresholds to get ahead of overspending, tracking budget consumption in real time for greater visibility, and using a single PO for many purchases to decrease manual efforts.
We are looking for a Software Development Manager (SDM) who is capable of breaking down and solving complex problems. An SDM at Amazon works on real world problems on a global scale. You thrive in a fast-moving team environment where you are able to juggle complex dependencies and requirements while producing optimal solutions. Key job responsibilities
* Building a world-class team by hiring exceptional talent, coaching and developing engineers, cultivating pragmatic engineering decision-making, and leveraging your technical expertise to constantly raise the bar.
* The role has potential growth that has opportunity to work with Sr. Engineering leadership (Principal Engineers, SDEs, and Managers) across AB, Consumer Catalog, Supplier, and Go-To-Market teams
* The scope of the work spreads across multiple portfolio of products and services. It gives opportunity to get broader knowledge and experience of Amazon (buying experience, seller experience, Customer Acquisition, Account Management etc).
* Thinking big and working with leadership team, business stakeholders and software engineering teams to define vision, strategy and requirements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
– 3+ years of engineering team management experience
– Experience partnering with product or program management teams
– 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
– Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
– Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
– 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
