DESCRIPTION
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
This role will be focused on developing and implementing a comprehensive test strategy that ensures sufficient testing capacity and scalability to meet the program’s production demands. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, test, manufacturing, quality, and others, to align on testing requirements, processes, and capacity planning.
Key job responsibilities
This role will involve driving the execution of Kuiper’s manufacturing test systems to establish efficient and scalable testing processes. You will be responsible for ensuring that the testing infrastructure and resources are capable of supporting the program’s ambitious production targets while maintaining high standards.
This role will require you to demonstrate a deep understanding of the interplay between manufacturing processes, testing operations, and capacity planning. You will exhibit ownership and strategic thinking, developing innovative solutions to address capacity constraints and bottlenecks, and drive stakeholder alignment within the Kuiper Satellite program.. Effective stakeholder management will be crucial, as you will be responsible for ensuring clear communication, alignment, and productive collaboration across teams.
You have a strong background in production testing, manufacturing processes, and capacity planning. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, creating clarity and driving strategic solutions to complex capacity and scalability challenges. You will continuously evaluate and optimize testing methodologies, leveraging data-driven insights, automation, and industry best practices to improve efficiency and throughput.

A day in the life
This role will be highly collaborative, requiring partnerships with cross-functional leaders to drive positive results. This role requires ability to advocate on behalf of our customers (internal and external) and an ability to push back without being adversarial.

About the team
The Operations Command Center (OCC) team is the Kuiper Production Operations Integrated program management function that enables successful production scaling. The vision of OCC team is to enable success of end-to-end Kuiper operations team by proactively developing systems, processes, mechanisms, and tools that are required to detect issues, expose root cause, validate improvements, maintain controls, and drive operational rhythms.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
– 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
– 2+ years experience in hardware/software testing
– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building data driven mechanisms and coordinating a large portfolio of actions and projects to reach an organizational goal
– Experience owning cross-functional program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership (up to director level)
– Experience influencing design, test procedures and requirements as a mean to improve yield or throughput
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
– Masters degree in engineering (aerospace, aviation, computer science, electrical, electronics)
– Experience in test engineering and/or working in aerospace or aviation industry
– Experience leading an operational team or organization to increase throughput and/or drive operational excellence
– Ability to regularly engage with senior stake holders and influence across the organization
– Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines
– High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
– Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
