What to Expect

Consider before applying: This position is expected to start in January and continue through April/May. Internships are in-person for 40 hours a week for a minimum of 12 weeks.

About the Team

Tesla’s Vehicle Software Release Management team is looking for an intern who is passionate about driving the world’s transition to a sustainable future. We are hiring highly motivated candidates for the position of Technical Program Manager Intern. Internship roles in our teams provide significant independence and ownership of projects, while still providing excellent mentorship and guidance.

As a TPM intern, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end launch coordination of Tesla’s over-the-air (OTA) software releases, ensuring the execution of smooth, on-time, and quick turnaround software releases. In this role, you will support and work closely with the software release management team, and cross functional software engineering teams. 

What You’ll Do
Schedule, and communicate software release target timelines to stakeholders
Coordinate end-to-end the software release sign off process ensuring on-time software launches
Manage and communicate scope, schedule, and launch changes smoothly while ensuring continuous communication to leadership, stakeholders, and team members
Manage and communicate cross-functional deliverables required for timely software launches
What You’ll Bring
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering Management, Computer Engineering, or related field of study with a graduation date between 2025-2026
Prior experience in technical program management, software release management, or managing consumer electronics software programs is ideal
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum or software release process
Ability to work with agility in a fast-paced environment while managing conflicting priorities, and achieving tight launch schedules
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
Prior experience with software development and program management tools (Ex: JIRA, GIT/Stash, Confluence) is preferred but not required
