What to ExpectTesla’s
Cell Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated Electrical/Controls Engineer
to work on a critical challenge facing the world’s energy transition
– production of dry battery electrode.
As
an Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with the process development,
controls, and design teams to deploy first-of-a-kind dry battery electrode
production processes and equipment, design new processing facilities, support projects
from concept through design, install, integration, ramp, and handover to
the operations team. What You’ll DoCoordinate
the design and development of one-line diagrams, site plans, 3D models,
electrical panel layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams from initial concept
to final designDevelop
special engineering documentation used to install, operate, and maintain process
equipmentLead
the design, installation, and commissioning of MV and LV equipment, control
systems, IO panels and cabling, and automation devicesPrepare engineering
specifications for bid invitation, perform bid evaluation, and confirm bid
evaluations for purchaseEngage
in some field-based activities; applicant should be comfortable working in an operational
manufacturing facility with ongoing construction activityComplete
full electrical design for industrial control system, including power
distribution, hardware and cabinet design, and motor control/VFDs, and
additionally review and provide written comments on design plans and
specifications prepared by othersEnsure
designs meet appropriate electrical codes and work with external parties to
verify compliance with these codesEstablish
standards and specifications for installation, modification, quality control,
testing, operation, inspection, and maintenance of PLC and DCS based automated
control systemsPerform
energy audits and complete circuit analyses to predict energy usage and maximum
voltage sag for critical loadsImplement
electrical safety programs following OSHA and NFPA 70E guidelines
