What to Expect
*This role will be based out of a designated Tesla Collision Center*
We are looking for an experienced Painter to work on one of the most progressive vehicles in the world on the Collision Tactical Response Team. The Collision Tactical Response Team quickly deploys to support factory initiatives to minimize impact on the field, support high backlog locations, and new location openings. This position is home based through a local Tesla collision centers, however, it requires regular travel in support of other collision centers and factory operations.
What You’ll Do
Responsible for following proper repair procedures and performs all refinish procedures according to factory specifications
Utilize air sanders, spray guns, and sanding blocks
Manage and control materials cost maximizing usage and inventory
Prepare color tint to match paint color, mix paint colors and top coating
Follow all paint manufacturing guidelines Spray test panels for each vehicle to ensure color match
Ensure that all paint operations are complete and all masking is removed
Assist in prep work when necessary
Adhere to all regulatory compliance guidelines for hazardous waste disposal
Maintain clean, orderly and organized work area
Comply with safety rules, guidelines and standards
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience as a Painter
75% of the year travel minimum, 3 consecutive week capability and ability to travel with your own tools
Capable of seamlessly integrating with multiple different teams on wide variety of different technical repairs and processes
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and to work independently in limited supervision environments
Willingness to work overtime if required
Vocational Certificate in Collision Repair and Tesla experience, preferred
