What to Expect
You will serve as a member of the Tesla Energy Products team within the Service Engineering org to effectively utilize fleet data and engineering fundamentals to monitor and enhance product performance. You will identify and root cause key design, process, or firmware failures in Tesla’s fleet of renewable energy hardware and work with cross functional stakeholders to solve these issues. Using multiple channels to collect feedback, you will help define product/feature roadmap. The role offers opportunity to work on both existing and new product lines within the residential energy space. 
What You’ll Do
Develop and run data queries on fleet logs to help root cause analysis efforts 
Work with the engineering and manufacturing teams to drive design and manufacturing changes to improve product quality in both existing and future products 
Define data signatures that uniquely identify the failure and lead integration of this knowledge into algorithms to automatically identify similar other failures in the field 
Provide support on escalated customer cases to minimize system downtime, through day-to-day coverage of internationally distributed service cases 
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Data Engineering or equivalent experience  
Experience working with power electronics design/ failure analysis – DCDC converters, DCACs, analog and digital circuits, power converters, digital control systems, embedded systems etc. 
Experience working with customer facing teams – providing guidance, generating documentation, and training to enable teams to be effective 
Experience with interpreting and understanding single line diagrams, schematics, and layouts of complex electrical designs to troubleshoot product failures 
Experience with data analysis using Python and SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau/ Power BI etc. 
Experience in developing data pipelines using industry standard tools like Airflow 
Experience with firmware release management  
Strong understanding of electrical systems, including inverters, batteries, and solar PV arrays 
Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with experience working with monitoring software and data acquisition systems 
Work travel is expected to be <10% in this job. This could include traveling to customer sites, our manufacturing facilities, etc.
