What to Expect
The Low Voltage Hardware team designs the electrical “nervous system” of Tesla products. Our circuit boards control hundreds of devices (motors, sensors, LEDs, etc) across all electrical systems (seats, doors, HVAC, powertrain, safety, chassis, lighting, etc) in Tesla vehicles & robots.
What You’ll Do
Start-to-finish hardware ownership: Specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematic, layout supervision, manufacturing, bringup, and validation of circuit boards.
Collaborate with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, program management, and validation teams
Thoroughly document design requirements, calculations, validation results, etc
Rapidly iterate as design requirements and product features mature over time
What You’ll Bring
Circuit board design (Altium preferred)
Strong understanding of analog & digital circuits (MOSFETs, op-amps, switching regulators, gate drivers, microcontrollers, SPI, I2C, component selection, power dissipation, etc)
Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to tackle open-ended challenges using first-principles
Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, electronic loads, etc)
Experience shipping high-volume circuit boards
Basic programming ability (Python preferred)
Knowledge of automotive design requirements
Design for autonomous vehicles (fail-safe redundancy)
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
