What to Expect
Tesla’s actuator team designs and builds actuators for humanoid bi-pedal robots (Tesla Bot). The team joins mechanical, electrical, and electromagnetic Engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative environment.
As part of the actuator design team, you will be responsible for assembly of complex mechanical stacks with little to no instruction other than CAD. This position is critical to the development of the high-performance electromechanical rotary and linear actuator systems for humanoid bi-pedal robots (Tesla Bot).
What You’ll Do
Perform mechanical/electrical analysis of actuators and sub-assemblies
Perform failure analysis and provide root cause analysis
Assemble custom test setups for dyno testing/investigations, and debug dyno problems of all kinds
Support R&D with custom test configurations
Equipment setup of rotational components
Assemble and testing of early-stage prototype actuators
Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
Use CAD to design fixtures for rapid prototyping
Take precise measurements with micrometers/bore gauges
Work directly with design team to provide rapid feedback on experimental actuators
What You’ll Bring
