What You’ll Do
Perform hardware and firmware validation of residential energy storage/solar/charging systems
Develop and maintain automated firmware tests using Python libraries
Lead and own end-to-end delivery of robust, reliable test automation sequences and ensure the features are well tested through automation
Lead and own system level firmware validation, new features definition, firmware regression, and firmware releases
Develop and execute test plans to validate functions, features, and system performance
Debug and fix hardware and firmware issues on complex, high power/high voltage products
Conduct failure analysis to understand root cause and drive resolution for hardware and firmware failures originating in testing and from the field
Drive continuous improvement in design and performance by providing direct and accurate feedback to design owners
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in hardware/firmware testing and automation development
Strong electrical engineering fundamentals
Proficiency with Python, C, C++
Experience with industry standard development and/or automation tools (JIRA, Jenkins, Git, Docker, etc.)
Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact in a complex product
Must be comfortable with hands-on lab work (including the use of scopes, CAN tools, soldering irons, etc.)
Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems
Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail
Preferred: Experience with inverters, batteries, and solar PV arrays
