Tesla

What to Expect

Tesla is looking to hire an Engineer to push the boundaries of Chassis systems and Chassis actuation. Working alongside the most creative and resourceful Designers and Engineers in the world on a lean and agile team, you will be responsible for full-system design, from defining technical requirements, component selection, validation of performance, production design release and launch for multiple design executions across all Tesla programs.

What You’ll Do
Define technical systems to enable development of world-class chassis systems that exceed functional targets and are compliant to regulatory requirements
Work through the entire product cycle with critical input early in development by collaborating with supplier and Tesla’s chassis hardware, dynamics, modeling and controls, firmware and manufacturing teams, to ensure designs meet all requirements
Develop test procedures and support rigorous testing and verification of systems to ensure accurate functionality, safety, validation and compliance with industry standards and regulations
Maintain required product development documentation
Design and build prototypes of electronic designs and conduct rigorous testing to verify performance, durability, and safety, making necessary adjustments for optimization
Focus on improving electronic system performance, cost, quality, and cost-efficiency within
What You’ll Bring
First principles, physics-based thinker and problem solver able to handle problems of varied scope and complexity
Demonstrate technical aptitude, excellent communication, and creativity
Understanding of mechatronics actuation and sensing, including analog and digital sensors, motor controls, inverter design, BLDC design, automotive digital communications protocols, steering, braking and suspension systems
Engineering principles in design, validation, prototyping and production of mechatronic systems along with experience designing, validating and troubleshooting of PCBAs
Experience with common communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, EtherNet), their proper implementation and associated challenges
Experience with MATLAB, SimuLink, Python and SPICE for analysis, modeling, and simulations
Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience with technical documentation in at least 1 full lifecycle vehicle programs to include DVP&R and DFMEA is desired
