The Equipment Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams are constantly innovating and solving complex engineering problems.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the SolidWorks Support Engineer. In this role, you will be an integral part of Tesla’s product and equipment development operations. This role will act as a CAD and PDM Administrator and Support Engineer. This role ensures that CAD data is well-organized, easily accessible, and the PDM system are effectively maintained and supported.

The ideal candidate will be highly knowledgeable in data management throughout the product and equipment lifecycle, developing strategies in the areas of solid modeling, PDM Configuration Management along manufacturing processes and industry trends.

What You’ll Do
Provide technical SolidWorks application support to internal Tesla Engineering departments
Define, configure, and maintain PDM access management, folder structures, data standards and workflows
Drive administration of CAD and PDM for configurations, software upgrades, environments, and licenses
Own the maintenance and administration of PDM vaults and CAD software and coordinate with external vendors to provide additional CAD and PDM support
Automate processes whether standardized through workflows, templates, and other means
Collaborate with Engineering teams to develop, implement, and maintain CAD file standards, templates, libraries, and system configurations
Provide training and mentoring for SolidWorks CAD and PDM Pro
Publish tips, techniques, and best practices for use of CAD and PDM
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in the industry
Working knowledge of SolidWorks CAD and PDM process and principles
Experience in migrating and implementing CAD and PLM software
Working knowledge of license management, software administration, and installation
Familiar with product lifecycle development processes and configuration control (revisions, release level, approvals)
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Requires advanced knowledge of SolidWorks products
