You will be the bridge between global technicians and the larger-scale, global service network.  By using in-house tools, partnering with engineers from service, quality, and design, and working collaboratively with diagnostics, training, technical operations, and other teams, you will help keep vehicles driving on the road for hundreds of thousands of electric miles.Tesla is a fast-paced working environment that celebrates highly motivated individuals. The work that you do will create changes in current and future production vehicles and help transition the automotive industry to a revolutionary approach to vehicle service.What You’ll DoPartner with engineering teams to create and update diagnostic information and procedures contained in the diagnostics database for use by non-engineersCollaborate with various engineering and quality teams to gather technical informationUnderstand technical problems and communicate them effectively to non-technical peopleValidate information for accuracy and use a routing and review process for document approvalEdit content according to a style guide and enforce organization standardsImprove editorial and visual standards for documentation and recommend new designs, layouts, and formatting as needed.Manage tasks and information flow using collaboration software (such as JIRA,  SharePoint, and custom databases)What You’ll Bring Degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, Technical / Professional Writing, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent 1-3 years working experience in related field Ability to edit and create documentation that is accurate, complete, clear, specific, and as concise as possible Ability to explain technical concepts to peers, people from different parts of the organization, and non-technical people Can extract and comprehend system operation from typical engineering documentation from both a software and mechanical perspective (e.g. schematics and subsystem specification documents) High level of interpersonal communication skills Strong capacity for both logical and creative thinking Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task and evaluate priorities Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision Experience with HTML, XML, DITA, Markdown, Git, SQL, and/or Python is a plus
