What to Expect
We are looking for a motivated Supply Chain Program Manager to support our development teams and contract manufacturing partners in sourcing glass & chemicals used in our vehicles, powertrain units, Tesla Energy products and/or new programs (Direct Supply Chain parts). This role will report to our Supply Chain Sr Manager and in parallel be an active sourcing resource supporting our various groups (Engineering, Finance, etc.) within Tesla. Open to other locations: Fremont, CA and Austin, TX.
What You’ll Do
Owner of RFQ’s and Contract Management – Ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated, agreed and appropriately documented before business is initiated
Drive negotiation for piece price and product development to ensure that Tesla’s pricing meets best-landed-cost expectations as well as Supplier Industrialization standards of Best-In-Class quality
Execute on data analytics initiatives, supply chain process improvements, and other strategic program management objectives for the assigned commodity scope
Participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners and comfortably communicate both internally and externally to drive decisions from cost and supply reliability perspectives
Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews
Ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and influence timely decisions with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support program launch
Build and implement strategies to the external environment and internal goals for the respective parts and communicate key supply, cost or quality issues with management teams and develop corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
5+ years of experience in supply chain management or commodity management, experience associated to supply chain or operations project management is preferred
Proficient knowledge of supply chain and procurement strategies in mechanical designs to influence cross functional teams and drive sourcing decisions with detailed cost and supply analysis
Capability to drive competitive landed-cost and sustainability based on the understanding of product chemistry and manufacturing process
Excellent negotiation skills by building out should-cost models, leveraging competitive options, and healthy supplier partnership
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
