What to Expect
The Production Control Supervisor is the front-line leader of our Production Control Team. They are responsible for clearly communicating the safety, people, quality, rate and cost goals and expectations of the department to the team, coach and mentor Material Handlers, motivate the team to reach higher and solve problems to achieve the business objectives. The ideal candidate will not accept the status quo and constantly look for ways to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement of processes and procedures. They must have a strong background in manufacturing with the ability to work cross functionally with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Management on a wide variety of issues and corrective actions identified. Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills are an absolute requirement to establish effective working relationships within Tesla.
The successful candidate for this position is hands-on, a dynamic people leader who embraces change, passionate about manufacturing, has strong analytical abilities, organization skills, attention to detail and decision-making ability in an ambiguous environment. What You’ll Do
Provide supervision to Material Handlers and day-to-day operations including receiving, stocking, shipping and all transactions related to inbound/outbound activities
Work closely with 3rd party vendors, as well as internal/external logistics and Quality teams, from around the globe
Train and assist other Tesla team members in locating indirect products, and procuring said items if necessary
Ensure that warehouse staff effectively and efficiently performs timely receiving, stocking, picking, packing and shipping of inventory to store locations and external customers
Communicate with internal teams and internal/external customers, keeping all informed of the inventory and shipping status including No Bin, No Cost, No Movement reporting
Regularly monitoring the inventory work, the implementation of assigned processes, such as coordinate a cycle count program, and troubleshoot all order problems, and suggesting changes accordingly
Resolve process issues related to materials management, warehousing, production control, logistics, distribution, and returns
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional abilities in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment, preferably automotive-related
Flexibility to change assigned work shift
Able to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various teams including service and warehousing personnel
Knowledge and application of TPS, Min/Max principles, and Logistics methodology in a JIT environment
Proven ability to provide leadership and motivation to a large group of warehouse personnel
Familiarity with outbound shipping requirements of components via common freight carriers domestically and internationally
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills and experience using SAP
