Tesla operates huge, vertically-integrated factories across three continents along with a global Supercharger network; the Security Operations & Response Team is responsible for 24/7 monitoring, incident response, threat detection and mitigation across this global enterprise. This team operates around the clock, utilizing advanced security & intelligence systems to promptly identify/respond to incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and mitigate potential risks or damages. The group also provides leadership in coordinating with regional teams to maintain a cohesive security posture worldwide.

We are looking for a passionate Security Engineer to continually improve the efficiency of our detection/response program through platform & tools development, tuning, innovation and automation. You will build, test, deploy and enhance custom features for detecting & countering threats at scale; your work will remain at the forefront of developing groundbreaking solutions, pushing boundaries, and driving real-world impact.

What You’ll Do
Design & develop next-generation security solutions based on adhering to first principles, defying convention, and delivering tangible outcomes

Translate security needs into actionable R&D projects, prioritizing those with the greatest impact

Enable systems with exceptional scale, visibility, and response capabilities
Proactively identify & build solutions to disrupt threat actors across the entire chain
Challenge the status quo by questioning established industry thinking, proposing bold solutions, and redefining best practices through sound principles
Reimagine cloud-based security solutions and tooling for on-premises deployments, with a focus on cost savings and increased data security
Outmaneuver the Magic Quadrant through bespoke software development, security solutioning and singular purpose rather than stitching together “best of breed” solutions
Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring understanding and alignment
What You’ll Bring
Extensive experience in security software R&D, with a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and secure coding practices

Experience in network/endpoint detection & response, security automation, UEBA, and threat & malware analysis
Experience developing security products, tools, and processes that deliver real-world impact
Critical thinking, problem solving and investigative mindset
Proficiency with Python, Go, Rust or similar is a plus

Private 5G/SCADA/ICS/OT experience is a plus
