What to Expect

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Program Manager to support our development teams and supplier partners in program management of Direct Supply Chain components and materials within the Vehicle Interiors commodity. These could include specific parts related to one of our four automobile programs (Model S, Model X, Model 3, and/or Model Y), as well as future developments. This role will report to our Group Manager and in parallel be an active resource supporting our various Engineering and Purchasing groups within Tesla. They will be a member of our Supply Chain organization supporting the development, implementation, and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. This role will leverage strong working relationships with our purchasing & engineering teams to ensure key suppliers are meeting, timing and delivery targets are met while mitigating launch cost. They will work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success.  The successful candidate will be a self-starter; motivated with expert overall Purchasing development. 

What You’ll Do
Connect and coordinate activities between Programs, Engineering, Global Supply Management, Supplier Industrialization, Planning, Logistics, New Program Introduction and Finance to ensure seamless component and product launch, while also limiting exposure to supplier liability/excess inventory during coordinated program phase-out
Collect information and generate presentations to clearly and concisely communicate risk to executive team
Develop timelines to plan out part readiness against program timing and develop relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure steady flow of information
Understand a broad range of manufacturing processes, both at suppliers and internally to better identify and mitigate potential risks
Represent Supply Chain team for risk mitigation and escalation discussions with Executive team, in collaboration with commodity Group Manager
Understand sourcing process, and drive team for timing and execution accountability
Develop robust systems to track progress of critical manufacturing equipment installation programs; proactively engage with cross-functional stakeholders to plan and roll out integrated systems
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, evidence of experience and exceptional ability, or equivalent experience
5+ years experience in program management with either automotive or manufacturing experience
Excellent communications skills with ability to influence cross functional stakeholders: Programs, Design, Global Supply Management, Supplier Industrialization, Planning, Logistics, New Program Introduction and Finance
Excellent analytical and judgment skills with advanced Excel skills (macros, VBA, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives and can establish business process issues and drive process improvement
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders and has organizational skills to manage transactional details
