What to Expect Tesla Motors is seeking an incredibly sharp, fast on their toes Engineering Program Manager to manage the product development of our next generation seating platforms, new products, and future seat programs. This person will coordinate over all aspects of a program regarding timing, quality, and cost. This requires maintaining and adjusting overall program schedule, help with identifying and resolving concerns regarding industrial design, Engineering, product development, supplier selection and readiness, manufacturability, and testing (e.g., durability, reliability, compliance). Furthermore, the Engineering Program Manager will leverage their experience to ensure the best possible value for Tesla in terms of funding requirements (tooling and ED&T) and part costs. This person will interact with multiple departments, Creative Studio, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Launch, Manufacturing, Finance, and the rest of the Program Management team.  What You’ll Do Tracking, reporting, and maintaining statuses and investigations of: schedule, mass, and cost. Including but not limited to creation and maintenance of dashboards depicting latest program design statuses Coordinate, manage and track multiple design iterations with CAE and Manufacturing team for design validation Work with other engineering program leaders to coordinate and manage prototype development, schedule, and builds Establish, organize, and track physical design validation targets and test cases for new product introduction. Crash / Abuse Testing, Reliability & Durability Testing, Corrosion Testing Define, drive, and implement program requirements from Concept to mass production and sustaining Derive workflows, timelines, communications/channels, risks, and mitigation plans Defining critical paths, and any other issues that arise for the launch and validation of new seating systems and components in all Tesla factory locations current Fremont, Austin, Shanghai, and Berlin and future Work cross functionally with Design Studio, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, NPI, Production and Service to establish new program cadence Work continuously with supplier project managers to keep their timelines in line with program timelines and deliverables. Drive expediting discussions, engineering changes and their impact on cost and timing Work with other EPMs, PMI TPMs, and Vehicle PMO to drive continuous and efficient communication. Drive business case studies and along with tooling tracking and for part, project, and program What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience 3 years of experience in automotive program management proven by successful model launch(es) Excellent organizational and communication skills  Ability to lead cross functional teams
