What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in quality programs and technical quality processes to join the team overseeing the quality program at the Cell Manufacturing external warehouse facility. As an Incoming Quality Technician, you will be responsible for performing the daily operation of and providing support to users of the quality program. In this role, you will work within the Quality Operations organization. The Incoming Quality Technician will inspect parts using CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine by Contact or Laser, such as Bridge CMM, Portable Arm, ScanBox), check for fixture certification when applicable, deliver reliable data and communicate any issues related to machine’s hardware and software. Other responsibilities include keeping a traceable data to update CM4D. Qualifications to become a CMM Technician require some experience in manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
Operate in the ‘inspect, diagnose and repair’ mindset, while working closely with manufacturing, process, and quality teams to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high quality
Execute timely corrective action for quality mitigation and containment. · Collaborate with engineering teams to support investigation, containment, and execution for strategic quality issues
Monitor quality, determine the root cause of problems and implement corrective actions and countermeasures. · Participate in continuous improvement activities
Analyze and disposition component and product defects as a member of the Material Review Board
Inspect parts using CMM, Profilometer, vision systems designated to each part number
Maintain 5S’s in Metrology Lab, by using labeling system and keep workspace clean and organized
Support the development and lead the implementation of Metrology standards and best practices in all aspects of Dimensional inspection inside and outside the Metrology Lab
What You’ll Bring
2+ years’ experience working in manufacturing or quality environment
Knowledge to use various types of inspection tools, such as Keyence Microscopes, OGPs, CMMs
Ability to use MS-word, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic e-mail system, collect and analyze data using SPC
Ability to wear PPE, which may include a full-face respirator and coveralls as needed due to working with hazardous chemicals
Experience with extensive problem-solving, root cause analysis, and Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ability to lift and sort parts of up to 30 pounds as needed
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
