What to Expect

Tesla is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our data center team. You will lead network design, implementation, and support for Tesla’s data centers. Your work will impact on our ability to innovate and maintain operational excellence. Without a skilled engineer to oversee network design, implementation and maintenance, there may be inefficiencies in Tesla’s network infrastructure. These data centers are crucial for enhancing the functionality of features like full self-driving and Autopilot, facilitating the delivery of software updates to Tesla cars as well as data processing for Optimus.

What You’ll Do
Help design, build, and maintain new and existing Data Centers
Work closely with other team members on design and initiatives; maintain and grow existing data center networks. Work with Tesla’s key application teams to support their growth, including Tesla Autopilot team
Provide high availability & reliability to the network
Requirements gathering, analyzing, and proposing solutions to networking needs. Monitor, analyze, and report metrics of network services
Develop automation methods to deploy, configure, and update network equipment rapidly
Assist with network troubleshooting
Conduct product POC evaluation
Document network knowledge base and operational “Run-Book”
Must be able to work occasional weekends, unscheduled after-hours, and holidays. 10-20% travel required as necessary
Participate in on-call rotation
What You’ll Bring
5+ years’ experience in mid-large global enterprise networking infrastructure
Experience in IP networking, L2/L3 network protocols (spanning-tree, OSPF, BGP), TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, end-to-end QOS, RDMA, InfiniBand, VLAN, VRRP, LACP, MC-LAG, EVPN with VXLAN, ACL, and infrastructure cabling
Strong Experience with Arista switches. Experience with Juniper and Cisco is a plus
Experience with various tools such as Protocol Analyzer, SNMP, flow, IPAM, RADIUS, Splunk, network taps, and load/stress testing
Experience with developing scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and collect metrics

Excellent organizational skills and solid team player
Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot high-level, complex technical problems
Excellent verbal and written communication
CCNP, JNCIP preferred
