What to Expect
As a Construction Materials Coordinator, you will be playing a critical role in the construction of Tesla’s first lithium refinery plant near Corpus Christi, TX. You will proactively support the construction and material management team with responsibilities including coordinating material movement, reporting inventory, and maintaining accurate receipt/issuance documentation. This role will interface cross functionally with project management, engineering, procurement, logistics, QA/QC, and construction to ensure the efficient and safe handling of materials and equipment.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate material movements within the project site, including receiving, inspection, storage, issuance, and distribution of materials
Collaborate with logistics and transportation teams to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials to the project site
Coordinate with construction teams to schedule material deliveries based on project requirements, construction progress, and priorities
Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and inspection requirements during material receipt and issuance
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and document any discrepancies or damages in received or stored materials
Collaborate with vendors, logistics personnel, and site personnel to promptly resolve OS&D issues, file claims, and coordinate returns or replacements
Generate regular reports on material inventory levels, consumption rates, OS&D incidents, and delivery schedules
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
Proven experience as a Material Coordinator or similar role in major capital project construction
Strong knowledge of materials management practices, inventory control, and procurement processes
Familiarity with construction materials, specifications, and industry standards
Proficiency in using material management software and inventory control systems
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
